Ingredients

  • 2 Slices of bread (preferably slightly stale)

  • 2 Eggs

  • 100 ml Milk

  • Butter and oil

  • Toppings: fruits (we uses banana, blueberries and fig, vanilla ice cream)

  • Prep Your Bread: Start with slightly stale bread, as it absorbs the egg mixture better. If your bread is fresh, leave it out for a while to let it dry slightly. Cut it into thick slices, around 3/4 to 1 inch thick.
  • Mix the Custard: In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, and milk. The exact measurements depend on your taste, but a common ratio is 2 eggs for every 1/2 cup of milk.
  • Soak the Bread: Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, making sure both sides are well coated but not soggy. Allow any excess to drip off.
