Baked Mini Hotdog Puff

Many think hotdog is not a proper meal or even a healthy choice of food, but we should give ourselves a break from all the healthy knowledge we got. Once in a while, we can feel as guilty as we could be to make our stomach happy. So we are not ashamed of eating a hotdog and it is one of our favourites snack we occasionally munch it.

Imagine, slather those puppies with a truckload of pickle relish, a drizzle of ketchup and mustard, and then pop them into a soft, buttery bun and this girl is in heaven. Or even customise them with different ingredients and seasoning. They just make the day so good but today we are not making those.

This time we upgrade (or downgrade) to this cute mini hot dog, a bit more refined when they’re wrapped in buttery, flaky pastry dough to create a delicately puffed built-in bun. They are perfect for your kid lunchbox, but surely the adult love as well. Our mom can’t help to ask for more! They’re just as appreciated at an elegant tea time.

We like to do it step after step, where we would first lay all the cut pastry on the baking mat. Then place your choice of sausage in the middle of the pastry. Start folding one side of the pastry towards the sausage. We love to put a little egg wash on top of the pastry to keep the pastry secure. We then continue to roll the pastry all the way. Remember to hide the end of the pastry at the bottom of the mat, to prevent it from puffing up. Complete it with an egg wash and sprinkle it with sesame. Bake it for 20 minutes at 180°C or till golden brown.

We think this is the shortest blog post we ever written in such long while, but this recipe is so easy to remake. We don’t have to explain in a long story like other recipes.

What I love about this, you don’t need to prep ahead, you need just a couple of ingredients, that you could almost find them at home. They served for raining days when you don’t want to get out of your house. They are so good and so cheap to put on your tea break. For young moms. it is also an easy activities that you can make with your kids. Indulge them with these delicious mini hotdog puff that make both of theirs and your day happier.

We really really hope that you will enjoy this! Tty it and tag your version by sending us an email or on Instagram.
