If you’ve never heard of turmeric milk, you’re in for a treat. Turmeric Milk aka Goldern Milk became my absolute favourite night time drink other than just a cup of regular warm milk. This drink is not only completely comforting, relaxing, and soothing, but it’s also extremely nutritious. It helps to brighten and give your skin’s complexion a boost!
While I was studying skincare knowledge with my beautician (aka mentor in life), also through books and online reading. Turmeric has recently become a darling with skin experts and skincare brands. The benefits have encouraged me to try to make turmeric milk as a routine. I believed that instantly it’s will become your favourite comfort seek!
Turmeric Good for Your Skin?
In Indian culture, a glass of turmeric milk was traditionally given to brides-to-be to brighten their complexion the night before. It’s more than just an old wives tale. Curcumin has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which do help in combatting acne and clarifying the complexion.
Turmeric also acts as a blood purifier and flushes out toxins from the system. If you are experiencing a sinus headache, a cup of Turmeric milk might provide relief, as it eases mucus flow and promotes sinus drainage.
Most of the people I know have hated the taste or the scent of raw turmeric with all their might. And, our dearest Joe is one of them! I can’t be more agree that it can taste awful if made wrongly. But I can tell you that it’s opposite of disgusting and Joe can share with you how much she enjoys it now!
Why of Alt-milk (alternative milk)
When we are addressing the different kinds of milk – I have been taking both Dairy and Soy Milk since I was born. And we the human race has consumed Dairy milk for centuries, and it’s a staple in many families. Yet it caught mine and much earth-lovers attention that we should be relying less on foods sourced from animals. Is a good overall approach to tread more carefully toward our Mother Earth.
While I depending on Soy Milk for the longest time due to a seasonal reaction with Dairy products. To make sure I have good calcium level, soy milk is the most affordable option for the past decade. Though, I was being told that I have a high level of urine acid due to the intake of Soy Milk (but some research mentioned that it might not be the case, more studies we will find out) therefore I have been searching for other alternatives.
I have started to fall in love with Nut Milk – especially the Almond. I have tried a couple of brands out there but nothing is accommodated to my tastebud except Ecomil at the moment. It is organic and no artificial sugar added in it!
Sometime, we would challenge to make our own nut milk soon but meanwhile, Ecomil is my favourite! I do not know many brands out there so please shall with us what is good for you!
To make Turmeric Milk Tips
Could I replace other alternative milk or dairy milk?
You can use any milk, based on your preferences. The different milk will bring out a different taste of it! While Dairy Milk will give you a creamier and a stronger taste, almond milk will have a natural sweet-almond scent.
Could I replace another herb?
You can add 2-3 whole cardamom pods while boiling for a more intends flavour.
