The combination of juicy tomatoes and soft tofu mixed with the unique “Wafu” flavour creates an explosion of taste that will leave you wanting more.
No cooking involve
Usually, as a typical Chinese family, our mom will make hot tofu dishes.
But these days we just want to eat something cool and don’t sweat in the middle of a meal. This tofu salad is a game-changer for anyone looking for a quick and easy meal without any cooking involved.
First, gather your ingredients: a block of firm tofu, chopped or shredded ingredients (chicken, onion and seaweed). We also recommend you replace it with cucumber or carrot. For a vegan lover remove the chicken and top it up with other veggies.
Drain the tofu to remove excess water, then crumble it into a bowl. Add the chopped veggies and chicken, along with a drizzle of the homemade Wafu sauce. Voila! A delicious and healthy dish that’s perfect for lunch, dinner or supper.
“Wafu” as known as Japanese dressing, is a versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of dishes. It is a combination of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil, with the addition of other ingredients like ginger, garlic, and sugar. The result is a tangy, slightly sweet dressing that pairs well with salads, vegetables, and meats.
One of the great things about Japanese dressing is that it is easy to make at home. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious dressing that will elevate any dish. Plus, making your dressing allows you to control the ingredients and adjust the flavour to your liking.
We decided to add wasabi to our version of “Wafu” dressing to give the dressing a light spiciness.

Tomato Tofu Cold Dish
1 block of soft tofu, sliced
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 cup of cooked chicken breast, shredded
1 onion, shredded
shredded seaweed, for Garnish
white sesame, for Garnish
- Wafu sauce
2 tbsp of soya sauce
1 tbsp of sesame oil
1 tsp of wasabi
- Sliced the tomato and tofu in similar thicknesses. Place it alternatively.
- Garnish with chicken, onion and seaweed and pour over the sauce made.
